Shreveport Police Department officers are actively searching for Cedric Demery, a suspect wanted in connection with a severe domestic violence incident that occurred recently. According to law enforcement reports, Demery allegedly assaulted a female victim and endangered her seven children, six of whom are under the age of 13. The incident began when officers responded to a call regarding an active domestic dispute. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the victim and her children at Ochsner LSU Health, where medical personnel documented welts, bruises, and lacerations on the victim's arms, face, chest, and head. Investigators stated that Demery had been consuming alcohol throughout the day prior to the physical assault. The situation escalated when the victim attempted to flee the residence with her children. Demery allegedly pursued them in a vehicle and attempted to run their car off the road while the children were inside. Patrol and K-9 units responded to Demery's last known location on East Merrick Street, where they located the vehicle he was reportedly driving. However, Demery had already left the residence before officers could apprehend him. An arrest warrant has been secured for Demery on multiple charges, including six counts of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment and one count of Reckless Operation of a Vehicle. Shreveport Police emphasize that Demery remains at large and poses a potential threat. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Shreveport Police Department or Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers immediately. The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement continues to locate the suspect to bring him into custody for the alleged crimes.
