Federal agents from the U.S. Marshals Service have joined the Baltimore Police Department in the ongoing search for Dashawn Taylor, a 24-year-old man wanted in connection with a deadly double shooting. The incident occurred on June 23 at the Mega Tobacco Shop located on York Road in North Baltimore. According to police reports, officers responded to the scene after two separate but related incidents were reported. Investigators determined that two individuals were shot during the altercation. One victim, identified as 38-year-old Asia Williams, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The second victim, a 27-year-old man, survived his injuries. Police stated that neither victim had a known relationship with the suspect. Investigators believe the shooting was triggered by an exchange of words between Taylor and the 27-year-old man inside the store. The argument reportedly spilled outside, where Williams was waiting for the other victim in a car. Seconds after the confrontation moved outdoors, shots were fired, striking both individuals. Taylor fled the scene immediately following the shooting. Prior to this incident, court records indicate Taylor was arrested in Maryland in 2023 on a felony drug charge. He was convicted in 2024 and sentenced to one year in prison followed by one year of probation, though a judge suspended all but one day of the sentence. Additionally, Taylor was arrested in 2020 for possessing a loaded handgun in a vehicle and was placed on two years of probation. An $8,000 reward is currently being offered by Metro Crime Stoppers for information leading to Taylor’s arrest. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding his location to contact the tip line immediately. Surveillance footage was previously released to assist in identifying the suspect, who has now been named by investigators.
