Lewistown Police are searching for 42-year-old Kio Dejesus-Pena, who is currently at large following a violent shooting incident in Mifflin County. Dejesus-Pena is wanted on five counts of attempted criminal homicide, along with additional charges including attempted aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person. He also faces a charge for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person due to a prior robbery conviction. The incident occurred late on September 5, 2026, near the Major League Bottle Shop bar located at the intersection of Logan and South Streets in Lewistown. According to police, an argument inside the bar escalated, leading to a confrontation outside. Dejesus-Pena allegedly left the establishment, retrieved a firearm from between two homes, and returned to the scene where a group of five people were entering a vehicle. Investigators state that he fired 21 shots in rapid succession. Five bullets struck the passenger side of the vehicle, shattering the glass, before the car drove away. A separate individual was transported to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the buttocks. Police recovered evidence at the scene but have not yet located the weapon. Dejesus-Pena was identified through surveillance footage from the bar and previous traffic stops, which matched his distinct tattoos. The U.S. Marshals Service has been requested to assist in the manhunt. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Dejesus-Pena’s whereabouts to contact the Lewistown Police Department immediately.
