A 34-year-old man remains at large following a series of criminal incidents that began late Thursday night in Los Angeles County. The suspect, who was driving a gray Hyundai Elantra without license plates, initially led Los Angeles Police Department officers on a pursuit around 9:17 p.m. on the northbound Hollywood (101) Freeway near Elysian Park. The chase concluded when the suspect crashed into another vehicle within the parking structure of the Glendale Galleria. Following the collision, the suspect carjacked a victim's vehicle and fled the scene. The abandoned car was later located in Burbank. According to the Glendale Police Department, the victim was able to ping her cell phone, which remained inside the carjacked vehicle, allowing officers to pinpoint its location in the 300 block of North Pass Road. Police recovered the vehicle and the phone, returning the phone to the victim, but the suspect has not been apprehended. While the suspect's identity is known to Los Angeles police, he remains at large as of Friday. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the suspect or the gray Hyundai Elantra. The investigation is being conducted by the Glendale Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department. No further details regarding the initial burglary charge have been released in this report, but the suspect is wanted in connection with burglary, collision, and carjacking allegations.
