Authorities in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, are searching for Kaegan Jude Solet, a 47-year-old man wanted in connection with a deadly stabbing spree that occurred on Saturday night in Houma. The incident resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left a child in critical condition. Deputies from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered multiple deceased victims in residences near Ashland Drive after responding to a report involving a wounded child. The child, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition, according to officials. Solet, a resident of Houma, is described as the primary suspect in the attacks. He has a documented history of violence, having been arrested multiple times over the past decade for similar incidents, including a fatal stabbing, though he has never been convicted. In January 2019, Solet was charged with the murder of a homeless man found dead in Houma with multiple stab wounds. An anonymous tip led to his arrest, where he was found hiding in a shed just one block from the scene of the current crime. A grand jury subsequently declined to indict him due to insufficient evidence. Additionally, in December of that year, Solet was charged with attempted murder following an attack on a 59-year-old woman at a local motel. Although DNA evidence was collected at the scene, a jury acquitted Solet in November 2023. Law enforcement continues to seek Solet, who is believed to be at large. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any information regarding his whereabouts to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to bring the suspect into custody and provide closure to the victims' families.
