Charles Dobucki, a landlord based in Buffalo, New York, is currently at large after an arrest warrant was issued for his failure to appear in Buffalo Housing Court last Thursday. Dobucki is wanted for contempt of court and is facing significant legal consequences related to the severe neglect of his four properties located in Allentown, specifically at 2 St. Louis Place, 377 Maryland St., 102 Johnson Park, and 42 Cottage Street. On the day of his default, Housing Court Judge Phillip Dabney found Dobucki guilty of 55 code violations across these properties. The violations include garbage accumulation, rodent infestation, and leaving vacant structures blighted and structurally unsound. One structure on the premises collapsed earlier this spring. The fines associated with these convictions could total as much as $82,500, with sentencing scheduled for November 24. Dobucki has a prior history of legal evasion; he was previously arrested last April by Buffalo Police for contempt of court and false impersonation after failing to appear in court. Neighbors and local officials, including Fillmore District Common Council Member Mitch Nowakowski, have long criticized Dobucki for allowing his properties to become hubs for squatters, drug deals, and violent crime. The Allentown Association, represented by attorney Joseph Trapp, is seeking orders of abandonment to allow the city to seize the properties and sell them. The investigation is being handled by the Buffalo Housing Court and Buffalo Police. Authorities are urging the public to assist in locating Dobucki. Tips regarding his whereabouts can be directed to the Buffalo Police Department or the local housing authority.
