Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez has identified the victim of a fatal shooting as 34-year-old Victor Thomas Gonzalez, who was killed on Sunday in the Aldine area of Houston. The incident began when Gonzalez was robbed at gunpoint, an event that possibly occurred in the 900 block of Pear Street. According to the sheriff, Gonzalez had met with suspects at a location to sell property when the robbery took place. Immediately following the crime, Gonzalez pursued the suspects in his vehicle as they fled the scene. While chasing the suspects, he entered the jurisdiction of the Houston Police Department and was shot on John Alber Road. Gonzalez managed to contact emergency dispatchers while on the phone, providing the direction of travel for the suspects before reporting that he had been shot. Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene at 660 John Alber Road and began a preliminary investigation. The victim was confirmed to be the initial caller who had been pursuing the criminals. As of Monday, September 14, 2026, no arrests have been made, and the suspects remain at large. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the robbery or the subsequent shooting to come forward. Investigators are specifically looking for the individuals involved in the initial armed robbery and the fatal shooting.
