During the pursuit, Gonzalez reported that the suspects' vehicle had crashed. Shortly after, he informed dispatchers that he had been shot. Neighbors witnessed the incident, describing a man being pulled from a vehicle by bystanders who attempted CPR before emergency crews arrived. Despite medical intervention, Gonzalez could not be saved. HCSO homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene and have launched a full investigation.
