The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Joseph Cody Alexander, a man wanted on a warrant for third-degree domestic violence. The case stems from an incident that occurred on January 12, 2019, when deputies responded to an assault call at a local hospital. According to the sheriff’s office, the female victim reported that she had discovered her live-in boyfriend at the time, Alexander, had been untruthful. Upon being confronted about his dishonesty, Alexander allegedly punched the victim in the eye with a closed fist. The suspect has remained at large for several years. Authorities stated that the department periodically audits its warrant files, including the oldest cases in the system, and this specific case was highlighted during a recent review to bring Alexander into custody. Investigators believe Alexander may still be in the area. Chief Deputy Billy Anthony has identified Alexander as the suspect in this ongoing investigation.
