Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez has confirmed that the victim in a recent fatal shooting was 34-year-old Victor Thomas Gonzalez. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the Aldine area of Houston, Texas. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the sequence of events began when Gonzalez met with suspects at a location to sell property. During this meeting, Gonzalez was robbed at gunpoint. Rather than remaining at the scene, Gonzalez pursued the suspects in his vehicle. The robbery is believed to have originated in the 900 block of Pear Street, but the chase extended into the jurisdiction of the Houston Police Department. While driving, Gonzalez contacted emergency dispatch to report the robbery and provide the direction of travel for the suspects. Shortly after providing this information, Gonzalez reported that he had been shot. Deputies responded to the scene on John Alber Road, where they discovered Gonzalez had been fatally shot.
