Albany Police are actively investigating two separate stabbing incidents that occurred on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and are requesting public assistance to identify the suspects involved. The first incident took place around 6:25 p.m. near the intersection of Ontario Street and First Street. Upon arrival, officers were notified by staff at Albany Medical Center Hospital that a man had entered the emergency room with stab wounds. Approximately one hour and twenty minutes later, at about 7:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of South Pearl Street, near Mount Hope Drive, for a second reported stabbing. At this location, police found a 44-year-old man with a cut to his face. He was treated at the scene by Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel before being transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators determined that this victim was also involved in an altercation with a suspect and was stabbed in the 300 block of South Pearl Street near Gansevoort Street. Both investigations remain active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The Albany Police Detective Division can be contacted at (518) 462-8039.
