Lynchburg Police Department is seeking 21-year-old Jovaun Adrian Lee of Washington, D.C., in connection with a shooting that occurred at 1:03 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the 2500 block of Memorial Avenue. Lee, described as a 5′11″ Black male weighing 165 pounds, was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Authorities report the suspect attempted to rob a victim inside a gaming establishment, leading to a physical altercation. Lee is wanted on charges including armed robbery, aggravated malicious wounding, and reckless firearm use. The victim, who was struck by gunfire, was hospitalized in stable condition. Meanwhile, a separate report states a 9-year-old child remains in critical condition after a car rolled into a front yard earlier in the day.
