Baton Rouge Police are searching for Trenton Brown, a 46-year-old registered sex offender, who is wanted on one count of molestation of a juvenile. According to an arrest warrant issued on September 9, Brown is alleged to have sexually abused a young girl in her home over a period spanning from June 2020 to June 2022. The investigation began on August 13, when detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital following reports of sexual abuse involving a male household member and a 14-year-old girl. The victim stated that Brown resided at her home and held a position of authority as an adult household member and father figure. She reported that the abuse commenced when she was between the ages of 8 and 9 and continued until as recently as July. The incidents reportedly occurred while the victim was alone in the home with Brown, often while her mother was at work. Police discovered that Brown had previous allegations involving the same victim that did not result in prior arrests. Records indicate Brown is a registered sex offender with a prior conviction for sexual battery and previous arrests for carnal knowledge of a juvenile. In October 2024, the victim had previously alleged that Brown attempted to touch her inappropriately, a report that was made to a school teacher and subsequently to the Department of Children and Family Services. At that time, DCFS workers interviewed the victim and her sibling, both of whom denied any abuse was occurring, and Brown was not arrested. Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding Brown's location to contact the Baton Rouge Police Department.
