The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is urgently requesting the public’s assistance in locating Erik Von Richard Haumann, a 33-year-old man wanted in connection with a violent and severe criminal attack. Haumann is currently at large and is believed to be armed. Authorities state that on September 17, 2026, an incident occurred at a residence in North Fork, California, where Haumann allegedly attacked a 75-year-old victim during an argument. The suspect is accused of subjecting the victim to an extended period of violence, including torture and mayhem, while threatening to kill them. As a result of the assault, the victim sustained multiple severe and permanent injuries. Following the attack, Haumann is suspected of stealing the victim’s vehicle. Although the stolen vehicle has since been recovered in the Lemoore area, Haumann himself remains missing. Investigators believe he may be traveling toward the Santa Barbara area, but his current whereabouts are unknown. A warrant has been issued for Haumann’s arrest on charges of attempted murder, torture, mayhem, and robbery. He is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Law enforcement officials have issued a strict warning to the public: do not approach or attempt to contact Haumann under any circumstances.
