Authorities in Washington state are actively searching for an unidentified male suspect following a drive-by shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The incident began just before 2:00 p.m. in a residential neighborhood near Northeast Heisson Road and 17th Avenue in Battle Ground. Witnesses reported hearing approximately ten gunshots fired from a moving vehicle, which was described as a silver Nissan. One witness, Kayla McCartney, stated that the suspects appeared to be involved in a road rage incident before firing at a neighbor's residence. The vehicle then traveled toward Battle Ground Lake State Park, located approximately one mile from the initial shooting scene. Upon arrival at the park, a Clark County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle matching the suspect description. Police detained the driver, identified as 44-year-old Theodore Seaman, who has since been booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of drive-by shooting. However, the passenger fled the scene on foot and remains at large. The presence of armed suspects prompted a significant law enforcement response, including SWAT teams, K9 units, and drone surveillance. As a precaution, park staff briefly evacuated campers and visitors from the area. Law enforcement officers also conducted a search of the initial neighborhood, recovering several spent shell casings. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The campground was reopened before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Battle Ground Police Department, in conjunction with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Police, continues to investigate the case. Detectives are urging anyone with information regarding the location or identity of the second suspect to contact Detective Everett at the Battle Ground Police Department. The case number for this investigation is 26-1476. The public is reminded that the second suspect is still at large and should not be approached.
