The Seneca Police Department is actively seeking the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect responsible for a series of bank fraud incidents across Northern Illinois. According to Police Chief Jeff Wold, the suspect is linked to eight reported incidents occurring between August 1, 2026, and September 17, 2026. These fraudulent activities involved unauthorized cash withdrawals and unsuccessful attempts at various financial institutions located in four counties: Cook, Will, Grundy, and LaSalle. In each instance, the individual allegedly bypassed security measures by presenting a counterfeit Illinois driver's license to bank tellers. The suspect is described as a white male with graying hair, standing between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build. He is estimated to be between 45 and 65 years old and has been observed with varying facial hair, sometimes clean-shaven and other times with facial hair. The Village of Seneca, where the police department is based, is located on the border of LaSalle and Grundy Counties, just south of Interstate 80. Law enforcement agencies, including financial crimes investigators, are collaborating to track the individual. The Seneca Police Department urges anyone who recognizes the suspect from security photographs or possesses information regarding these incidents to contact Chief Wold directly at (815) 357-8726. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to apprehend the suspect and recover losses from the multi-county scheme.
