The U.S. Marshals Service is searching for Sherman Kemp, a 47-year-old Baltimore man who escaped federal custody earlier this month. Kemp, who was featured in the notorious 2004 'Stop Snitching' DVD, is wanted on a federal escape charge after failing to report to a new facility. A federal judge in Georgia signed an arrest warrant for Kemp on September 13, 2026. Investigators state that Kemp was instructed to self-transfer from the Federal Correctional Institution in Miami, Florida, to a minimum-security prison in Jesup, Georgia, located nearly 450 miles away. He never arrived at the destination and has been at large since. Kemp is described as standing approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds. He is also known by the aliases 'Kemp' and 'Goose.' Authorities believe he may be anywhere along the East Coast but maintain ties to Baltimore. Kemp has a significant criminal history, including a 2008 plea agreement where he admitted to conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. The 'Stop Snitching' video, produced in Baltimore in 2004, featured Kemp and others encouraging witnesses not to cooperate with police, becoming a focal point for federal efforts against witness intimidation. A reward is being offered for information leading to his capture. The public is urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 202-819-5058 or 1-877-WANTED-2 with any tips regarding Kemp's whereabouts.
