Authorities in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, are actively searching for Tywaun Bender, a 23-year-old man from Harrisburg, who remains at large following a shooting incident outside the Derry Hookah Lounge. The incident occurred on the early morning of August 23 in Swatara Township, specifically in the 5400 block of Derry Street. Police describe Bender as armed and dangerous and urge the public to exercise extreme caution if he is encountered. The shooting targeted a black Mercedes-Benz that was struck by at least 12 bullets, with investigators recovering 17 shell casings at the scene. Surveillance footage indicates the vehicle was followed by an SUV, from which two individuals exited and fired at the Mercedes from approximately 30 feet away before fleeing. Police have linked the shooting to an earlier altercation at a nearby Sunoco gas station, where license-plate reader data and additional video evidence show the suspects' vehicle, a Lexus, pursuing the Mercedes after a confrontation involving three men from the Lexus and two occupants of the Mercedes. During that earlier encounter, the Lexus driver was observed handling a handgun. Bender, along with co-suspects Toddrick Newton, 32, and Azmere Green-Stewart, 21, faces multiple charges including criminal attempted homicide, reckless endangerment, and various firearm-related offenses. While Newton and Green-Stewart have been taken into custody, Bender remains wanted on an active arrest warrant. Dauphin County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to his arrest. Residents with any information regarding Bender's whereabouts are instructed to contact the Swatara Township Police Department at 717-564-2550 or call 911. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Crime Stoppers channels.
