San Francisco Police Department officers are currently investigating a potential connection between two separate violent incidents that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday. The first incident took place just before 5:10 a.m. in the Outer Sunset neighborhood, specifically on the 1200 block of 22nd Avenue. Responding to reports of a burglary, officers encountered a victim who had discharged a firearm during the reported crime. The suspect involved in the robbery fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement, and despite an immediate search of the area, officers were unable to locate or apprehend the individual. Approximately twenty minutes later, at just before 5:30 a.m., SFPD units responded to a separate call for service on the 400 block of 47th Avenue in the Vista Del Mar area. Upon arrival, officers discovered a person suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. While the proximity in time and location suggests a possible link, the San Francisco Police Department has stated that they have not yet confirmed whether the shooting victim is related to the earlier burglary. Police spokesperson Officer Robert Rueca noted that the investigation is active and ongoing. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and are requesting that anyone with information regarding either the burglary or the shooting contact the San Francisco Police Department directly at 415-575-4444. The suspect in the robbery remains at large, and no arrests have been made as of this report. Investigators are working to determine if the two events are connected and are continuing their search for the individual responsible for the initial burglary.
