Two victims were approached by a Black male while disposing of bulk trash from a box truck at a local dumpster. The suspect allegedly claimed ownership of the receptacle and demanded payment. After the victims initially provided $60, he requested an additional $20. When they refused, the man reportedly displayed a weapon and issued threats. As one victim returned to his vehicle to retrieve more funds, the suspect struck the other man in the face, knocking him to the ground. Both individuals ultimately surrendered additional cash before fleeing the area. The suspect is described as standing between 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall, weighing between 230 and 260 pounds, and sporting a beard. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and heavy-duty brown-and-black work boots. The Newark Police Division is actively investigating the case and is urging anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to come forward.
