Law enforcement officers responded to the Pine Gardens Apartments on Pitner Road near Soway Street in northwest Houston around 10 p.m. Friday following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male who had been shot; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A second adult male was found with two gunshot wounds and was transported to a nearby medical facility. His condition was initially critical but has since been upgraded to stable. Investigators are currently searching for an unidentified male suspect who remains at large. Preliminary inquiries suggest the shooter, the deceased, and the surviving victim all lived in the immediate vicinity and may have been consuming alcohol together before a verbal confrontation turned violent. According to reports, the two victims attempted to walk away from the dispute when the suspect opened fire. The surviving victim successfully provided a physical description of the shooter and a description of the vehicle used to flee the area. No arrests have been made at this time. The Houston Police Department homicide and detective units are leading the investigation. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity, location, or vehicle contact the department immediately or submit a tip through the Houston Crime Stoppers program.
