Newport, New Hampshire police are actively searching for Jiang Xiu Yu, a 50-year-old woman who remains at large following a recent law enforcement operation. Yu is the registered owner and manager of the Harmony Wellness Spa, located at 17-53 John Stark Highway in Newport. Authorities have issued an arrest warrant charging her with one count of prostitution and related offenses stemming from an investigation into sex trafficking and illegal sexual services at the business. The warrant was issued after Newport Police, assisted by federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations and Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies, executed a search warrant at the spa on Thursday. During the raid, officers uncovered evidence supporting the allegations, and an unspecified number of individuals believed to be victims of sex trafficking were identified and offered medical services and support through the Sullivan County Attorney Victim/Witness Program. The investigation began in early September after the Newport Police Department received a tip from the Concord Regional tip line regarding suspicious activity at the spa. Officers conducted covert surveillance and reviewed background information from the New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure and Certification, leading to the development of probable cause for the search warrant. No arrests have been made at this time, but police emphasize that Yu is still at large and encourage the public to assist in locating her. Business records indicate that Yu has managed other spa businesses in New Hampshire, including Day Spa LLC in Stratham and SaSa Spa LLC, suggesting a pattern of operation across the state. The Newport Fire Department also inspected the premises for health and safety violations. Investigators continue to process evidence and conduct interviews, with additional arrests and charges expected. The public is urged to contact the Newport Police Department or the Concord Regional tip line with any information regarding Yu’s whereabouts.
