Law enforcement officials are currently conducting an active search for an unidentified male suspect following a violent armed robbery at a Kailua convenience store. According to police reports, the suspect is described as a man wearing a black ski mask and a black hooded sweatshirt. Investigators have not yet released a name or specific age for the individual in custody or at large. The man is wanted for allegedly committing an armed robbery after entering a Texaco gas station around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Upon entering the business, the suspect approached a 22-year-old cashier and brandished a cleaver-type knife. He then demanded cash from the register, successfully stole the money, and immediately fled the premises. Witnesses and officers noted that the suspect escaped the scene by running on foot and riding away on a skateboard. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. The Honolulu Police Department is actively investigating the case and has established the Kailua location as the primary scene of the crime.
