The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office has identified three men as wanted suspects in the kidnapping and murder of Avtar Singh, a father of three from Tracy, California. The victims, Singh, was abducted on February 17, 2026, from the Tracy Gurdwara around 2:30 p.m. His disappearance was not reported until later that evening. Surveillance footage captured by Flock cameras showed Singh being taken by three individuals in a white crossover-style SUV. The vehicle was tracked to Vallejo and seized on February 19. Singh’s body was discovered on February 20 near Lake Berryessa, more than 100 miles from the abduction site. Investigators believe Singh was the victim of mistaken identity; the intended target was a man in Canada whose cargo trailer had been stolen. The three suspects, identified as Alberto Alencastro, 25; Alfonso Segura, 20; and Barnabe Segura, 22, are all from Vallejo and have ties to Mexico. They remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous. The suspects have been indicted on charges including murder with special circumstances and kidnapping. If convicted, they face life in prison without the possibility of parole. San Joaquin County Sheriff Patrick Withrow emphasized the community impact of the crime, noting that Singh was a pillar of the Sikh community who cooked for and cared for the temple. The Sheriff’s Office has vowed to find the individuals responsible. The Sikh community is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
