Authorities in Millard County, Utah, are actively seeking two suspects believed to be responsible for the theft of approximately 1,400 gallons of diesel fuel from the Sinclair Gas Station in Meadow. The incidents occurred on two separate nights, around 1 a.m. on September 15 and September 18, resulting in an estimated financial loss of $10,000 based on current diesel prices. Capt. Patrick Bennett of the Millard County Sheriff's Office stated that investigators believe the same two individuals were involved in both thefts. Surveillance images have been released showing a man suspected of being connected to the crimes. According to Bennett, the suspects approached the gas station entry doors, verified that the facility was unoccupied, and then proceeded to steal fuel directly from the pumps. Unlike typical fuel thefts where stolen credit cards are used, these suspects allegedly bypassed the pump's payment system entirely to dispense the fuel. Investigators suspect the thieves utilized a box truck equipped with a large storage tank to transport the stolen diesel. Bennett noted that the suspects do not appear to be from Millard County and may have traveled specifically to commit these crimes, potentially having a history of similar offenses elsewhere. The sheriff's office has contacted the Statewide Information and Analysis Center for assistance with the ongoing investigation. The public is urged to come forward with any information regarding the suspects or the incidents. Individuals with tips are asked to contact the Millard County Sheriff's Office and reference Incident #138347. The investigation remains active as authorities work to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the significant loss of fuel and property.
