Authorities are seeking Demario Scimio, a 33-year-old resident of Lehigh Acres, Florida, who is currently at large. Scimio is wanted for violating the terms of his probation, which stems from a violent incident that occurred in 2021. According to reports from Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, the underlying case involves an aggravated battery charge. The incident began when Scimio engaged in a dispute with his boyfriend over financial matters. During the altercation, the victim attempted to de-escalate the situation by retreating to another room. While the victim was away, Scimio consumed a 16-pack of beer. When the victim later attempted to leave the home, Scimio pushed him and retrieved a knife from the kitchen, subsequently stabbing the victim in the back. Following the attack, Scimio was arrested and spent the night in jail. He was later found guilty of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and was placed on probation. However, deputies determined that Scimio violated the conditions of his probation last week. Scimio is considered a repeat offender with four previous arrests on his record, including a prior conviction for driving under the influence (DUI). He is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. If apprehended, Scimio will be held without bond at the Lee County Jail. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, is urging the public to assist in locating him. Individuals with information regarding Scimio’s whereabouts are asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the P3 app or through the organization’s website. Those whose tips lead to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000. Authorities emphasize that Scimio is currently at large and pose a potential risk to the community.
