The incident occurred late Friday night, around 11:05 p.m., at a strip mall located on the 18000 block of Nordhoff Street, near Reseda Boulevard. This commercial area is situated just a few blocks from the California State University, Northridge campus. Authorities confirmed that both victims, identified as a man and a woman, were between the ages of 18 and 25. They were shot and killed at the scene. At the time of the shooting, the location was hosting a large party attended by dozens of minors. Following the gunfire, law enforcement personnel detained multiple minors at the scene, though witnesses reported that these individuals were subsequently released and picked up by their parents. Police responded to the second floor of the strip mall complex, where businesses including Ciel Nail Spa and the Artist Lounge are located. Video footage from the scene showed a body covered by a sheet and ongoing law enforcement activity. Officers remained on the scene as of 4:25 a.m. Saturday. The Los Angeles Police Department has not yet released specific details regarding the suspect's physical description or identity, stating only that one male suspect is wanted in connection with the double homicide. Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect's whereabouts or the events leading up to the shooting to come forward. The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for the violence.
