Philadelphia police are actively searching for three armed suspects wanted in connection with a violent gunpoint robbery that occurred at the Diaz Grocery store located on North 29th Street. The incident took place on the afternoon of September 29, approximately at 4 p.m. According to law enforcement reports, two men armed with handguns entered the establishment while a third individual remained outside to act as a lookout. Surveillance footage captures the suspects assaulting employees and forcing them into a back stockroom. One suspect, described as a young male between the ages of 17 and 20 and wearing a surgical mask, is seen brandishing a handgun at the employee behind the counter. A second suspect, believed to be around 25 years old and wearing a KMSL hooded sweatshirt with a white face covering, forced another employee into the stockroom, where he pistol-whipped the victim in the face. The suspects continued to assault both employees, striking the male victim in the face and knocking him to the ground. Although the suspects were unable to access the store safe, they ransacked a cash register and fled with approximately $7,000 in cash, along with the victim's keys and personal phone. Investigators have identified distinctive items worn by the suspects, including a Sprayground backpack with the phrase 'Can’t catch me' and a black and white Spider-Man backpack. The suspect with the Spider-Man backpack is noted to have ear-length braids. Police are urging anyone who recognizes these individuals or has information regarding their whereabouts to contact the Philadelphia Police Department immediately to assist in the ongoing investigation.
