Douglas County authorities are continuing their search for one unidentified suspect connected to the brutal murder and dismemberment of Jamal Parker, which occurred in May 2026. While five individuals have been identified and prosecuted, the final suspect remains at large. During a recent bond hearing, Douglas County Judge Cynthia Adams denied bond for two of the accused, David Barber and Ambria Boyd, following gruesome testimony regarding the crime. Barber, who entered a not guilty plea, and Boyd, the girlfriend of the victim, were held without bond due to their prior records and the severity of the allegations. Prosecutors presented evidence from co-defendant Brittany Baker, who testified that Parker was shot twice and stabbed five times before being decapitated while still alive. The GBI confirmed that Parker was dismembered, with his head and hands placed in buckets filled with concrete. These buckets were reportedly taken to an Airbnb rented by David Barber in Marietta before being disposed of. Phone location data places Baker and another suspect, Mario Barber, at a residence in the Windermere subdivision on May 12, the day after the killing. Mario Barber is believed to have been the gunman. The investigation is being handled by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The family of Jamal Parker attended the hearing, with his father expressing frustration over the legal timeline and his uncle demanding full accountability. Authorities have not yet scheduled a formal trial date for the defendants. The public is urged to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office with any information regarding the location of the remaining unidentified suspect.
