Authorities are actively searching for 31-year-old Xavion Perry III, a murder suspect currently at large in Central Florida. Perry, who stands approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall and was last seen wearing all-black clothing and white sneakers, is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old woman. The incident occurred Tuesday night near Creeks Edge Condos in Gainesville, where the victim succumbed to her injuries despite emergency response efforts. Perry reportedly fled the Gainesville scene and traveled to Daytona Beach, where officers attempted a traffic stop near the Main Street beach approach. During the stop, Perry abandoned his 2021 black Dodge Charger, ran toward the Main Street Pier, and jumped approximately 20 feet onto the beach before disappearing into the area. Law enforcement has since recovered the vehicle but has not located Perry or the firearm allegedly used in the shooting. Police have noted Perry’s prior criminal record, which includes a felony grand theft charge and domestic violence misdemeanors, and confirmed he made threatening social media posts referencing "suicide by cop." The Daytona Beach Police Department, alongside multiple regional agencies, has increased patrols throughout the Daytona Beach area and is conducting an extensive ground search. Residents and visitors are strongly advised not to approach the suspect under any circumstances. Anyone with information regarding Perry’s whereabouts or potential sightings should immediately contact the Daytona Beach Police Department tip line or local law enforcement authorities.
