Baltimore County police are actively searching for an unidentified driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of 64-year-old Melissa Nocho. The tragic event occurred on the evening of Thursday, September 24, at approximately 9:15 p.m., in the 1700 block of Reisterstown Road in Baltimore County, Maryland. According to police reports, officers responded to a call regarding a pedestrian who had been struck and found Nocho suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she remained in critical condition for several days before passing away on Wednesday, September 30. Investigators confirmed that the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision failed to stop at the scene of the accident. Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department's Crash Team have been working to identify the suspect vehicle. Initially described as a black car with significant damage to its front end and windshield, the vehicle has been narrowed down to a black Hyundai Elantra. To assist in the identification of the driver, police have released surveillance images through Metro Crime Stoppers. These images depict the sedan from multiple angles and include three photos of a person believed to be the driver, who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans. As of the latest update issued on Friday, October 9, the driver has not been publicly identified, and no arrests have been announced. Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the vehicle or the individual in the surveillance photos to come forward. Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to felony charges and an arrest. Residents with any relevant information are encouraged to contact Baltimore County Police detectives or Metro Crime Stoppers directly to aid in the ongoing investigation.
