Charles Lawshe, a 15-year-old resident of the Carrick neighborhood in Pittsburgh, is currently at large and wanted by law enforcement in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on October 1 outside Cupples Stadium. The incident took place following a football game between Westinghouse Academy and University Prep, where shots were fired as attendees were departing the venue. According to the criminal complaint, Lawshe is facing multiple serious charges, including three counts of attempted homicide, three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a minor, and carrying a firearm without a license. The shooting resulted in injuries to three teenagers, all of whom were transported to the hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. Police identified Lawshe through a combination of surveillance video footage and witness accounts. Video evidence captures Lawshe and three others walking on the sidewalk in front of the First National Bank approximately 20 minutes prior to the shooting. Following the incident, the footage shows Lawshe fleeing the scene toward the rear of the bank. Investigators recovered a firearm, three empty shell casings, and a pair of eyeglasses at the scene, which have been submitted for ballistic testing and processing. As of October 13, 2026, Lawshe remains not in custody, and an active arrest warrant has been issued. In response to the violence, Pittsburgh Public Schools have implemented new safety protocols for events at Cupples Stadium, including mandatory adult supervision for students under 18 and a clear bag policy. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and to contact the Pittsburgh Police with any information regarding Lawshe's whereabouts.
