Denton Police have issued an arrest warrant for Richard Pastor Perez, 49, who is currently at large and wanted in connection with the disappearance and presumed death of his estranged wife, Marjulin Briceño Arrieta, 42. Investigators believe Arrieta is no longer alive, though her body has not yet been recovered. The case began when Arrieta disappeared more than two weeks ago, prompting concerns from her family due to a documented history of violence and stalking by Perez. Police discovered Arrieta's vehicle abandoned near Perez's apartment in Denton, Texas, noting that the white 2013 Ford Escape had been switched with different license plates. Using license plate reader technology, law enforcement tracked the vehicle through the Texas Panhandle into New Mexico. Albuquerque police subsequently located the SUV, and surveillance footage captured Perez arriving at a hotel alone on September 30 before abandoning the vehicle. Perez remains the primary suspect and is believed to be in the Albuquerque area. Denton Police, the FBI, and other agencies are continuing the search for both the suspect and the victim. The community in Denton has rallied around Arrieta's three children, ages 21, 18, and 9, providing financial and emotional support. Denton County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to Perez's arrest. The public is urged to contact Denton Police with any information regarding the location of Richard Pastor Perez or Marjulin Briceño Arrieta.
