Authorities are urgently seeking Richard Pastor Perez, a 49-year-old man wanted in connection with the murder of his estranged wife, Marjulin Daiuru Briceño Arrieta, 42. The investigation began on September 28, 2026, when Briceño Arrieta’s family reported her missing after she failed to return from a meeting with Perez at his apartment located in the 1900 block of North Ruddell Street in Denton, Texas. Concerns were heightened due to Perez’s documented history of abuse. Upon her disappearance, Briceño Arrieta’s vehicle was discovered abandoned near Perez’s residence, while his white 2013 Ford Escape SUV went missing. Investigators quickly identified that the SUV’s license plate had been switched. Using a Flock camera system, law enforcement tracked the vehicle, which was detected in Wichita Falls around 9 p.m. on September 28. The SUV was subsequently spotted in Donley County, southeast of Amarillo, shortly after 1 a.m. on September 29, and traveling west on Interstate 40 just west of Amarillo at 10:44 p.m. that same day. The trail eventually led to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where police located the abandoned Ford Escape after a license plate hit alerted them. Hotel video recovered by Denton detectives showed the vehicle arriving on September 30, with a man matching Perez’s description exiting the car and leaving it in the parking lot. Based on the evidence gathered, including the timeline of movements and the circumstances surrounding the disappearance, detectives believe Perez is responsible for Briceño Arrieta’s death. As of the latest reports, both Perez and Briceño Arrieta remain missing, and efforts to locate them are ongoing. Denton Police and the FBI are collaborating on the case and are asking the public for assistance. Denton County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to Perez’s arrest. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 800-388-8477 or by visiting the Denton County Crime Stoppers website. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings of Perez or his vehicle immediately.
