The incident occurred at approximately 5:51 a.m. at a 76 gas station located at the intersection of Denny Way and Broad Street, directly across from Seattle Center and near the Space Needle. The victim, identified as a male clerk in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene by Seattle Fire Department medics who responded to the call of violence. According to Seattle Police Officer Brian Pritchard, the suspect entered the store, purchased a drink, and then proceeded behind the counter to fire upon the clerk. Video footage reviewed by investigators indicates that no robbery took place and no items were stolen. The suspect is described as a heavy-set male wearing all black. After the shooting, the suspect walked away from the scene, and it remains unclear whether he fled on foot or by vehicle. Interim Seattle Police Chief Andre Sayles was present at the crime scene as investigators work to identify the shooter. The suspect remains at large, and authorities are urging the public to assist in the manhunt. Individuals with information regarding the suspect's identity or whereabouts are asked to contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
