Denton Police are urgently seeking the public's assistance in locating 49-year-old Richard Pastor Perez, who is wanted in connection with the murder of his estranged wife, 42-year-old Marjulin Daiuru Briceño Arrieta. The investigation began on September 28, when Briceño Arrieta was reported missing by her family. She had last been seen around 6:45 p.m. that day meeting with Perez at his apartment located in the 1900 block of N. Ruddell Road in Denton, Texas. Following the meeting, family members were unable to reach either individual, prompting a missing person report filed based on Perez's history of abuse against his wife. Upon arriving at the scene, detectives discovered Briceño Arrieta's vehicle abandoned near the apartment and Perez's vehicle missing. Investigators noted that the license plates on both vehicles had been switched. Using the Flock camera system, police tracked Perez's vehicle traveling west through Wichita Falls and Donley County on the night of September 28. The vehicle was subsequently spotted in New Mexico, where a man matching Perez's description was seen exiting and abandoning the car in an Albuquerque hotel parking lot on September 30. An arrest warrant for murder has been obtained for Perez based on evidence recovered during the investigation. Interim Denton Police Chief Tony Salas stated that authorities believe Briceño Arrieta is deceased, though specific details regarding the evidence were not disclosed. Perez is described as being 5'5" and weighing approximately 150 pounds. The Denton Police Department, in conjunction with the FBI Dallas, is asking anyone with information to come forward. Denton County Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to Perez's arrest. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-388-TIPS (8477) or visiting www.dentoncountycrimestoppers.com.
