The Federal Bureau of Investigation has added Imer Gomez, a 29-year-old man from Texas, to its newly established Most Wanted Fraudsters list. Authorities are actively seeking Gomez, who is accused of orchestrating a multimillion-dollar Ponzi scheme that defrauded more than 400 investors. The FBI alleges that the scheme, which operated between 2021 and 2024, raised approximately $10 million. Gomez is believed to be currently at large, with investigators stating that he is attempting to avoid prosecution by hiding in Mexico. He was formally charged by a federal grand jury in Texas in July 2025, though the charges remained under seal until their recent public announcement on October 13, 2026. According to the FBI, Gomez presented himself as a successful investor through entities including K&G Investment Solutions LLC and Helios Venture Capital Group LLC. He allegedly promised clients personalized portfolios and stock market investments, but instead used new investors' funds to finance a lavish lifestyle, make payments to earlier investors, and support family and business associates. The scheme also involved providing fake account statements to deceive clients about their financial growth. In addition to the federal criminal charges, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed a separate civil enforcement action in July 2025, alleging that Gomez defrauded clients of approximately $9 million between August 2021 and September 2023. The SEC charged that Gomez falsely claimed to be an experienced trader capable of producing high returns and that client accounts were insured, none of which was true. The FBI is urging the public to provide any information that could lead to Gomez's arrest and conviction. The Most Wanted Fraudsters list, launched by the FBI in June 2026, focuses exclusively on major fraud cases and offers rewards of up to $150,000 for tips leading to an arrest. Many of the victims in this case are based in the San Antonio area. The FBI and SEC have not yet provided specific contact information for tips in this immediate release, but the public is encouraged to monitor official FBI channels for updates on how to report information regarding this fugitive.
