Authorities in Denton, Texas, are actively searching for Richard Pastor Perez, 49, who is wanted in connection with the murder of his estranged wife, Marjulin Daiuru Briceño Arrieta, 42. Briceño Arrieta, a mother of three, has not been seen since the evening of September 28, when she left work to meet Perez at his apartment. Police believe she was killed, and an arrest warrant has been issued charging Perez with her murder. Investigators discovered evidence indicating she was killed before her disappearance, noting that she had never gone a day without seeing her children prior to the incident. Briceño Arrieta’s family reported her missing after multiple calls to her and Perez’s phones went to voicemail. Detectives located Briceño Arrieta’s car near Perez’s apartment but could not find his white 2013 Ford Escape. Using Flock cameras, law enforcement tracked the vehicle, which had a swapped license plate. The car was first detected on Highway 287 in Wichita Falls on the night of her disappearance, then seen in Donley County and traveling westbound on Interstate 40. The vehicle was eventually located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where video evidence showed a man matching Perez’s description exiting the car and abandoning it at a hotel on September 30. Perez remains at large. The Denton Police Department and the FBI are leading the investigation. A $2,000 reward is offered for information leading to Perez’s arrest. The public is urged to contact Denton County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-388-TIPS or visit their website with any tips regarding Perez’s whereabouts or the location of Briceño Arrieta.
