The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning outside the Leaf Hookah Lounge in Northeast San Antonio. The incident took place just before 6 a.m. in the 6200 block of Binz Engleman Road. According to Sheriff Javier Salazar, two men separated from a group outside the establishment and opened fire, resulting in one death and one injury. The victim, identified as 33-year-old Glynn Wesly Thomas Jr., was found dead at the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled his death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds. A second victim, a 37-year-old man, was discovered in a nearby vehicle with two gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to a hospital where he remained conscious and speaking. Authorities have not released the name of the survivor. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was last seen wearing white pants, a white shirt, a black belt, and a white bucket hat. Investigators believe the individual may have dreadlocks. While video footage shows the deceased victim holding a firearm prior to his death, officials have not confirmed if he fired any shots. No weapons were recovered at the immediate scene, though a gun was discovered in a backyard approximately one and a half miles away in the direction the suspect traveled; its connection to the shooting remains unconfirmed. Six individuals present at the scene were detained, including one who livestreamed the aftermath. Sheriff Salazar indicated he may pursue legal action against the lounge, citing a history of violence at the location. The public is urged to contact 911 if they spot the suspect and to avoid approaching him. The investigation is ongoing.
