The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has released a series of age-progressed portraits of Robert Houston Sanders, Tennessee’s longest-running most wanted fugitive. Sanders, who would be 62 years old today, escaped from the Tennessee State Prison in 1990 while serving an 81-year sentence for kidnapping and armed robbery. He was the first individual placed on the TBI’s Most Wanted List when the program launched in 1993. The new images were created by Special Agent Forensic Scientist Glen Glenn, who utilized charcoal and paper to depict how Sanders might look after 36 years on the run. The portraits account for various life circumstances, including potential sun exposure or harsh weather conditions that could have aged his skin. Authorities do not know how Sanders has survived during his time as a fugitive, nor do they know if he is still alive. Assistant Special Agent in Charge Caleb Utterback emphasized that the bureau conducts in-depth intelligence analysis, reviewing Sanders’ family history and connections from the 1990s to inform the artistic reconstructions. The TBI hopes these visual updates will generate new leads, aiming for Sanders to become the 542nd fugitive captured through public tips since the program's inception. The investigating agency is urging the public to examine the photographs carefully and report any information that could lead to his apprehension. Individuals with information are asked to contact the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND. The release of these portraits marks a significant effort to update the public profile of a suspect who has remained at large for decades, highlighting the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to resolve cold cases and bring dangerous fugitives to justice.
