Authorities in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, are actively searching for a suspect believed to be responsible for two separate attempted bank robberies that occurred on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The incidents took place in the Grafton and Cedarburg areas, prompting a significant law enforcement response and temporary safety measures for local residents. The first incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. at the Port Washington State Bank located near Cheyenne Avenue and Highway 60 in Grafton. In response to the threat, schools in the immediate vicinity were placed into a soft lockdown, which has since been lifted. Approximately three hours later, police responded to a second armed attempted robbery at a bank branch on Washington Avenue in Cedarburg. The suspect in this second incident remains at large. Law enforcement agencies have released surveillance images from both locations, noting that the descriptions may match, though officials have stated they cannot yet confirm with certainty that the same individual committed both crimes. The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall Black man. During the incidents, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt featuring a red Jordan symbol on the left chest with the hood up, black pants, a red undershirt or top of the pants, black gloves, and a black gator mask covering the upper portion of his face. During the Cedarburg incident, the suspect displayed a black handgun. The Grafton Police Department and Cedarburg Police Department are jointly investigating these events. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and to report any information that could assist in locating the suspect. Residents are advised to exercise caution and to contact local law enforcement immediately if they have any information regarding the suspect's whereabouts or the incidents.
