Swatara Township police are searching for Clifton Emerson, a 63-year-old registered sex offender, who is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of his employer, Mary Kelly. The incident occurred on Monday morning, October 19, 2026, at the Factory Motor Parts location situated at 1700 Bobali Drive in Swatara Township, Pennsylvania. According to court documents and police affidavits, Kelly was discovered dead in her office around 7:57 a.m. after arriving at the business at 7:17 a.m. to disarm the alarm system. Employees arriving at 7:37 a.m. reported finding a large pool of blood leading into the office and a spilled coffee cup on the hallway floor. Upon looking through the office window, they discovered Kelly lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds to her neck and head. Police investigation revealed bloody footprints leading from the crime scene into an adjacent warehouse, where officers recovered two blood-covered kitchen knives and hair from a trash can. Surveillance footage captured a red Chevy SUV arriving at the scene shortly after Kelly. A black man, later identified as Emerson, exited the vehicle wearing a hat with a “P” on it, a dark gray jacket, a multicolored striped shirt, and silver sneakers. He was seen entering the building at 7:19 a.m. and exiting toward his vehicle at 7:37 a.m. without holding any items. Employees stated that Emerson had worked at the facility for approximately four years but had recently complained about a lack of work hours and financial difficulties regarding rent. There were no signs of forced entry, and Kelly was the only other person in the building at the time of the attack. Emerson is listed as a registered sex offender under Megan’s Law since November 2015, with prior convictions including unlawful communication with a minor and aggravated indecent assault. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Emerson’s whereabouts to contact the Swatara Police Department immediately.
