Authorities are searching for 40-year-old Ruben Fregoso, who is wanted in connection with the murder of a woman found deceased at her West Adams residence and the subsequent kidnapping of her 5-year-old daughter, Daleza. The missing child is described as standing 3 feet tall, weighing approximately 45 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and sweatpants. Fregoso is described as wearing a black vest, ripped jeans, and a black hat. The suspect is currently at large and remains the subject of an active Amber Alert. The incident originated in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, where the pair was last seen around 4 a.m. on Sunday. Surveillance footage subsequently captured the father and daughter in a parking garage in San Ysidro, where Fregoso was observed carrying a suitcase while holding the child’s hand. Law enforcement later recovered a 2019 Land Rover Discovery with California license plate 9DAW715 inside the San Ysidro Point of Entry parking lot, though neither the suspect nor the child were located at the scene. The California Highway Patrol is coordinating the multi-state search alongside local investigators. Members of the public with information regarding the whereabouts of Fregoso or Daleza are urged to contact the California Highway Patrol or the local tip line associated with the Amber Alert. A community vigil was recently held near the West Adams home to support the victim’s family and advocate for the safe return of the missing child.
