Adelio A. Guzman, a 53-year-old fugitive formerly of Camden, Delaware, remains at large and is actively sought by Delaware authorities. Guzman is wanted on an outstanding capias for his failure to appear in court regarding serious criminal charges stemming from incidents in 2018. The primary charges include attempting to engage in a sexual act with an animal and third-degree burglary. Additional charges filed at the time included counts of first-degree criminal trespass, attempted animal cruelty, animal cruelty, and criminal mischief. The case dates back to October 2, 2018, when Delaware State Police responded to a shooting incident in the unit block of Pony Track Road in the Camden-Wyoming area of Kent County. According to police reports, a 73-year-old homeowner and his 65-year-old wife discovered an intruder in their barn after an alarm activated. The homeowner discharged a firearm, striking Guzman, who was then 45 years old, in the lower extremities. Guzman was transported to a hospital for treatment, while the homeowners were unharmed. Authorities determined that Guzman had allegedly entered the property without permission on previous occasions. He surrendered to Delaware State Police at Troop 3 on October 12, 2018, and was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was released on an $11,750 unsecured bond but failed to appear for his scheduled trial in May 2019, resulting in the current arrest warrant. The incident follows an earlier assault on a pony at the same property in August 2018, which caused significant trauma to the animal. Guzman continues to appear in Delaware’s wanted-person database, and authorities urge the public to contact the Delaware Department of Justice with any information regarding his location. Tips can be directed to the investigating agency to assist in locating the fugitive.
