The McAllen Police Department is actively seeking the public's assistance in locating Carlos Alberto Moran, a 27-year-old man who remains at large. Moran is wanted on active arrest warrants for one count of Auto Theft, classified as a state jail felony, and three counts of Burglary of a Vehicle, each classified as a Class A Misdemeanor. The investigation began on October 19, 2026, when McAllen Police Officers and Investigators responded to a call regarding a missing vehicle on the 600 block of North McColl Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a white 2005 GMC Canyon was missing from the property, along with three additional vehicles that had been burglarized. Through subsequent investigative efforts, police identified Moran as the primary suspect in these offenses. A magistrate with the McAllen Municipal Court determined that probable cause existed to issue the arrest warrants. Moran is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and a distinctive tattoo on his face. His last known address was in McAllen, Texas. Although the stolen white GMC Canyon has been recovered, Moran has not been apprehended. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts, the crimes, or similar offenses to come forward. The public is encouraged to contact McAllen Crime Stoppers at 956-687-TIPS (956-687-8477). Callers have the option to remain anonymous, and information leading to an arrest may qualify for a cash reward. Anonymous tips can also be submitted securely through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The McAllen Police Department continues to investigate and is asking for community cooperation in bringing the suspect into custody.
