The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place last week in Wilmington, North Carolina. The incident occurred on the evening of May 22 at approximately 7:41 p.m. at the BuyQuick convenience store located on Market Street. According to investigators, the suspect approached the service counter, retrieved a firearm from his shorts pocket with his left hand, and demanded cash from the store clerk. Following the confrontation, the individual fled the premises on foot while carrying an undisclosed amount of money and a pack of cigarettes. Law enforcement officials stated the suspect was last observed walking along a fence line in the vicinity of the Three Oaks apartment complex and a nearby U-Haul facility. The wanted individual is described as a white male with a goatee. At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark sunglasses, a green T-shirt that may have been a Nine Line brand, black shorts featuring a green stripe, and a black hat displaying an “S” logo. Investigators also noted he was carrying a black sweatshirt when he entered the establishment. Detectives are actively reviewing surveillance footage and canvassing the area to identify the perpetrator.
