Mykell Robinson, a former basketball player at Fresno State University, remains at large and is wanted by authorities in connection with a high-profile sports betting conspiracy in Las Vegas. Robinson, along with co-defendants Matthew Martin and Steven Vasquez, faces serious felony charges including committing a fraudulent act at a gaming establishment and attempting or conspiring to cheat at a gambling game. Robinson and Vasquez also face an additional count of money laundering. While Martin and Vasquez were arrested in September, an active warrant issued for Robinson in August has not been executed. Reports indicate that Robinson may currently be playing basketball overseas, with social media profiles suggesting a location in Uruguay. The investigation centers on allegations that Martin, a former DraftKings employee, placed wagers at an MGM sportsbook on behalf of Robinson and Vasquez. These bets were tied to a specific prop bet regarding the performance of the Fresno State players during a Mountain West Conference game against Colorado State on January 7, 2025. Authorities allege the scheme involved the athletes deliberately under-performing to influence the outcome of the bets. Following an investigation by the NCAA, both Robinson and Vasquez were expelled from their respective universities and released from their basketball programs. Another suspect, Samuel Silverman, a former DraftKings employee and Fresno State staffer, was arrested in May and is believed to have acted as the link between the athletes and Martin. Authorities state that four individuals collectively profited nearly $16,000 from the scheme. The Nevada Gaming Control Board is leading the probe into the alleged point-shaving operation. Martin and Vasquez are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, while Robinson remains a fugitive. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Nevada Gaming Control Board are urging the public to provide any information regarding Robinson's whereabouts.
