Frackville Police are searching for Joshua Michael Longenberger, a 32-year-old resident of Mahanoy Plane, following an incident on October 20, 2026. Longenberger is wanted on charges of first-degree misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking and second-degree misdemeanor evading arrest or detention on foot. The investigation began around 7:00 p.m. when a resident reported an electric bicycle stolen from their porch on the unit block of North Lehigh Avenue. Surveillance footage captured a man approaching the porch, taking the bicycle, and walking away. Officer Noah Marx responded to the scene and later identified a man matching the description in the video near the intersection of North Balliet and West Spring streets. The individual identified himself as Longenberger. When shown the surveillance footage, Longenberger denied being the person in the recording, despite wearing clothing that matched the description, including green sneakers, black sweatpants, a gray zip-up jacket, and a tan backpack. Upon attempting to place Longenberger under arrest, he allegedly fled north on North Balliet Street. Officer Marx pursued the suspect on foot but terminated the chase shortly thereafter. Police have filed an affidavit of probable cause and requested an arrest warrant. Longenberger remains at large. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding his location to contact the Frackville Police Department. The charges are allegations, and Longenberger is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
