The Dalton Police Department is actively seeking the public's assistance in identifying a female suspect wanted for a series of counterfeiting incidents that occurred earlier this month. Investigators allege that the woman, described as having black hair pulled back and wearing a dark hoodie and jeans, targeted multiple local businesses in Dalton, Georgia, between October 4 and October 6, 2026. On October 4, the suspect visited a Walgreens on North Glenwood Avenue and attempted to use three counterfeit $100 bills to load funds onto a CashApp card. The scam was not discovered until a manager performed a cash count later that day. The same individual allegedly repeated the scheme at the same location on October 6. Additionally, on October 6, the suspect visited Salt And Light Salon on West Cuyler Street, purchasing an $8.56 keychain with a counterfeit $100 bill and receiving genuine change. She was also captured on surveillance attempting to buy a muffin at Garmony House, but left when the store declined the large denomination bill. Police believe the female suspect is working with a male accomplice. This male suspect, described as approximately 5'6" with long, dark curly hair and a dark complexion, allegedly paid for an order at Oakwood Cafe on West Cuyler Street with a counterfeit $100 bill on the same day. He received approximately $82 in genuine cash and left without his food. The counterfeit bills are reported to be slightly thicker and stickier than genuine currency, with indistinct facial features on Benjamin Franklin. Detectives are urging anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information regarding these crimes to contact Detective Nicholas Hill at 706-278-9085, extension 9-615.
