Law enforcement agencies across Missouri are actively searching for Levi Allen Joles, who remains at large following a dangerous police pursuit that concluded on the early morning of October 22, 2026. The incident began when a Sarcoxie Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop for multiple traffic violations and a rear-lighting malfunction. During the contact, the officer observed suspicious movements and what appeared to be a firearm under the driver’s leg. The driver, later identified as Joles, fled the scene, triggering a high-speed chase characterized by speeds exceeding 80 mph and aggressive maneuvers, including attempts to strike the pursuing patrol vehicle. The pursuit ended at Beagle Bay RV Campground, where Joles drove into the property at high speed. Due to the immediate risk to campground residents, officers slowed their approach and temporarily lost visual contact. A multi-agency perimeter was established involving the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Jasper County Sheriff's Office, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A drone search was conducted, leading officers to locate Joles's vehicle parked beside a camper. Although officers attempted contact, no one exited the vehicle. Citing safety concerns for the public and law enforcement, officers withdrew from the immediate area. The investigation remains active, and Joles is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding Joles's location to contact the Sarcoxie Police Department at (417) 548-3500. If the suspect is seen, the public is instructed to call 9-1-1 immediately. All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
